eXperience Jesus
At XJ, eXperience Jesus, we want students to have an encounter with the Living Christ. We want them to KNOW Jesus more deeply, LOVE Jesus more passionately, and SHARE Jesus more generously!
At XJ, students will be equipped to share the gospel, and they will be sent out on the streets to share the good news with others before they are sent home to share the good news with their friends. But at XJ, we want students to understand that the gospel is more than a message. The gospel is a person. Jesus said, “I am the way!” He IS the gospel. Students are inviting their friends into a saving relationship with Jesus.
As XJ changes the hearts of your students, we believe it will change the culture of your youth ministry, fanning the flames of disciple-making as your students are launched into a life of mission.

- 4-6:30pm – Check in Registration (dinner on your own)

Tuesday-Friday
- 7:30-8:30 – Breakfast
- 8-8:30 – Youth Leader Meeting
- 8:45-9:00 – XJ Together
- 9:00-9:30 – XJ Solo
- 9:45-11:00 – Net & Anchor Training 1
- 11:15-12:30 – Net & Anchor Training 2
- 12:30-1:30 – Lunch
- 2-5 – XJ 2×2
- 6:00-7:00 – Dinner (no dinner one night intentional Team Time)
- 7:15 – XJ Celebrate
- 9:15 – XJ Connect
- 11 – XJ Rest
Saturday
- 7am – Wake up
- 9am – Check out (Breakfast on your own)
Important meal note – no dinner Monday, no breakfast Saturday, no dinner one other night.
Definitions
- Youth – All students at the event
- Leaders – Adults from the churches coming to the event who will be responsible for youth
- Participants – All attendees who are not Sonlife or Moody Staff
- Moody Students – the band and emcees
- Staff – Sonlife and Moody employees running the event
- Solo – Participants will spread out on campus and spend time alone with God (youth supervised by Leaders)
- Together – whole group worship in large meeting space (TG or Dryer)
- Net (how do we cast our nets like Jesus did) and Anchor (how do we anchor ourselves in the truth of God’s Word)
- Training – Equipping time in classrooms at Moody (groups of 25-40 people). Youth Leaders will be with their students. Staff will be doing the training
- 2×2 – Leaders will take their youth group out for hands on ministry experience in the city (youth will always be with the leaders from the church that brought them)
- Celebrate – A celebration of what God has done in the lives of students and leaders throughout the day. Whole group gathering in large meeting space
- Connect – Leaders and Youth will meet for youth group time (each individual group would have a different location) in designated meeting spaces around campus.
