Description

Dann Spader is a disciple-maker who has spent his adult life exploring what it means to take someone from being a seeker to making disciples themselves. Over 750,000 people in 80 countries have been trained to make disciples through organizations he has led. Through studying the life of Christ and His disciple-making methods, Dann developed 4 Chair Discipling, a simple picture for others to follow. Jesus’ last words on earth had a few very specific instructions: Go, make disciples, baptize, and teach.

But what does that mean for us today? Well, it’s not easy. But it is simple. Teacher and leader Dann Spader explains disciple-making as a process of moving people through four chairs, from someone seeking to know more about Christ to someone who makes disciples themselves.

Chair 1: Come and See (John 1:39)
Chair 2: Follow Me (John 1:43)
Chair 3: Become a Fisher of Men (Matthew 4:19)
Chair 4: Go and Bear Fruit (John 15:16)

In the process of His four-year ministry, Jesus realized that different people are at different stages of growth and development, and He works to challenge each of them to the next level. In 4 Chair Discipling, you’ll get a clear and simple picture of how to follow in Jesus’ footsteps and do the same thing.

  2. Warren Smith

Using this book in a Sunday school class and it is really engaging us! Highly recommended!

  3. JS95

Learned so much in just the first chapter, could not put it down, then went and re-read the first 2 chapters to soak it in. Excellent learning/growing tool for all stages in your walk.

Jesus left us His model for us to carry out the Great Commission to make disciple-makers. With so many books about church growth, vision, mission, etc.. This book lays out the clear biblical model of the disciple-making process of Jesus. Jesus’s model of making disciples clearly goes against the grains of today’s church culture. But what’s so obvious is Jesus’ method worked!

I’ve been doing student ministry for 34 years and discipling students has always been our priority. Following Jesus is a call to make disciples who make disciples.. Crowds gather but individuals multiply. The simplicity of the four calls of Jesus found in 4 Chair Discipling have helped our students both identify where they & their friends are in the discipling process, as well as take the next steps needed to move towards fruitful multiplication. We use it with all our student leadership as a tool to help prevent stagnate & casual living. AND I just challenged our church leadership to do the same. If you don’t want to just grow your student ministry but multiply disciples, I encourage you to read and put into practice the things written in their book.
Oh, and I LOVE that everything Sonlife now sells is in pairs – because disciple making is not a solo kind of ministry! Kudos!

Part of my respect for the book comes from the fact that I know the author and have followed his ministry for years. Dann is committed to being biblical and practical in his effort at making these truths clear so we can put them into practice daily. 4 Chair Discipling is simple, yet grounded, in the Word of God. I can understand it and communicate it clearly. Thanks for your life, work and passion for discipleship.

Great resource and insightful about how people grow.

  8. Unknown

Great resource to start or enhance a discipling program. Step by step suggestions for helping move people through the process. This is also a good self-evaluation tool. Cannot believe I have been looking for a resource like this for over 20 years.

  9. Lisa Campbell

We have searched for a discipleship program based on the Word of God for a long time, without much success. So blessed to have found the 4 Chairs system. We plan on using all of the Sonlife tools to win souls to Jesus and take them through the 4 Chairs system. Thanks for your hard work and efforts in making this system available to us all. Blessings.

God has used Dann Spader to teach me how to truly walk as Jesus walked! What an HONOR to teach others the same disciplemaking strategy! This is our mission.
