We are invited to follow in the footsteps of Jesus so that we might become more like Him. No matter where you are in this process of Christian maturity, this booklet is designed to help you grow in your own understanding and articulation of your Christian faith so that you might become a mature follower of Jesus who seeks to multiply your life to the glory of God. Talk is part of a series of booklets which are intended to be done in community. Written in conversational sections, the booklets are not specifically designed for individual study although you could use them in this manner. As Jesus often modeled by sitting in dialogue with His disciples, learning often has its greatest effect in the context of community.

Talk Conversations:

  • Talk to God
  • Types of Prayer
  • Questions about Prayer
  • Talk about Jesus
  • Talk about God’s Story
  • Talk about Your Story

These booklets are written for new or growing believers, high school age and older. The concepts give enough meat on the bone to dive deeper as a group.

There are four more booklets in the series:
Identity: Learning Whose You Are
Walk: Learning to Walk
Feed: Learning to Feed Yourself
Clean: Cleansed Living

First of all, I love this whole series. I have sought the right follow-up tool for years. These studies offer a great deal of promise in meeting that goal. The illustration of a growing child’s need to learn identity, walk, talk, feed, & clean is so helpful in my personal disciple-making ministry.

Talk is one of my favorite studies in this series. It’s handling of both vertical and horizontal talk is balanced, pointed, and refreshing. The loss of either would be detrimental to a growing believer’s development. I found the teaching about prayer to be encouraging and challenging. Sharing God’s Story (and my own) was presented in a way that is memorable and transferable.

May God give me the opportunity to use this tool with many growing disciples… and see them do the same.
