Art and Beckie Melli

How would you describe your role with Sonlife?

We are Sonlife Trainers, living in the Sequoia National Park at Hume Lake Christian Camps. We use Sonlife to train local youth workers, and also in our role as Youth for Christ Int'l missionaries: training new missionaries at their orientation and on-field missionaries who would be benefit from a clear pathway for disciple-making.

What do you enjoy about the ministry you do with Sonlife?

We enjoy being part of a like-minded team of passionate Jesus' followers, and we are so grateful for the clear training materials that Sonlife provides for effective disciple-making that, from our experience, can be used overseas as well as here in America.

What are the values that drive you?

Our entire ministry has been about multiplication disciple-making and we especially love engaging and empowering young leaders for the task that Jesus left us to make disciples of all nations.

What are your hobbies, favorite family activities or interesting fun facts?

We enjoy living in the mountains here at Hume Lake among the trees, but we are especially grateful for the proclamation of the gospel here at Hume every week and the thousands who respond each year. Our hobbies revolve around missionaries, ministry, leadership and all things European, as we served in Germany with Youth for Christ Int'l for 27 years and have just returned to live in the USA a little over a year ago. Art has been a basketball coach for 40 years, so basketball has been a consistent part of our lives as well!
